Hi, Roy --

I think Wolfgang's comment:

>The other, in my opinion even much more harmful effect,
>is the noise all such lights are emitting.

...is very astute; my 'antennae' started twitching 'yes' when I read this.
  Meanwhile I should mention also:

There's precious little 'scientific' evidence that can be looked up on
this, but a gentleman named Dinshah did quite a lot of work with a therapy
he called Spectro-Chrome, till he was driven into New Jersey by FDA/FTC
sometime in the Sixties and essentially caused to keep the information to
himself after that. His son, Darius Dinshah, has continued the work,
however.

Comes down to this: Different specific -colors- of light, even at very
low-watt intensities, can be utilized to heal the human body.

Spectro-Chrome involves shining those specific colors onto the body in
certain ways -- nothing more than that. Dinshah was quite clear in saying
the effect does not require that the patient -see- the colors, only that
the light should be allowed to shine directly onto the body (meaning the
exposed skin, although it's reasonable to speculate this is an effect on
surrounding human energy fields more than on physiological skin).

Dinshah developed protocols for everything from the common cold to bubonic
plague, using this approach. The effects are apparently subtle overall,
so that observation of them can take a little time -- but on occasion they
can be relatively dramatic, producing useful movement in the direction of
healing on completion of the very first one-hour session under the light.

Sodium lights would be on the yellow side, wouldn't they? Spectro-Chrome
utilizes three hues within that range, identified as Yellow, Lemon, and
Orange. Here's what's said about those colors:

 - Yellow: Nerve builder, stimulates the motor nervous system, stimulates
lymphatic system, intestines, pancreas, digestive fluids; spleen
depressant; expels parasites.

 - Lemon: dissolves clots; promotes coughing; bone builder; brain
stimulant; thymus support and builder; mild digestive stimulant.

 - Orange: respiration stimulant; thyroid builder; parathyroid depressant;
antispasmodic; bone builder; decongestant; relieves digestive gas; assists
vomiting when that's what's needed.

This method is so non-invasive, so dirt-simple, that anyone could do it.
Necessary equipment: a 100-watt bulb; a shielded reflector-type holder to
put it in; a cardboard frame; some theatrical gels. (Interesting that
another writer mentioned the discomfort of being under stage lighting;
might be a connection there too, perhaps.)
