Learned about it through an article on pay phone charges in the Monday, March 30 edition of the Washington Post ("Getting Nickel and Dimed - Technology is About Change -- or Lack Thereof-- at Pay Phones", by Brian Krebs). The web site, at --- www.technorealism.org. --- includes a list of "principles of technorealism", such as: "technology is not neutral", "wiring the schools will not save them" and, "the public owns the airways and the public should should benefit from their use"; There is a reading list too. This seems like a good resource for citizens who are seeking to understand the impact of new and expanding technology, such as wireless digital, on their lives. Information available through this site might help citizens develop sounder and rational approaches in expressing their concerns to industry and government.
