.......This message should be contrasted with the one you just received
from guru (out of the U.K. -- about the demand of the local governments
for responsible action on the part of their "higher ups").....

I will refrain from stating the obvious about the difference in
attitude between the two societies -- but I dare to offer some
advice to ALL foreign governments: Based upon what you see below,
surely you can realize that the U.S. example is the worst you could
emulate!!!!.......

Cheerio....

Subject: Broadcasters defeat bill for EMR research

Yesterday was the Colo. Senate hearing on Rep. Witwer's bill to allow
Colo. to accept grants and donations to fund EMR research on radio/TV.
radiation. Lake Cedar Group (ABC,CBS,NBC, PBS affiliates who want to
erect the Supertower on Lookout Mt.) showed up with their "experts" who
misrepresented that 1) The EPA was satisfied that the FCC standard
protected human health 2) No research links broadcast EMR to health
effects 3) No more research is needed 4) This research would be used
by us as a ploy to keep them from meeting their fall deadline for DTV
and because of this, people in Denver would be the last in the Country
to get DTV (even though alternative sites are available), 5) The
supertower would bring radiation levels down and the amount at Ralston
elementary would be less than half the amount calculated by both our
engineer and the independent consultant for the County.
Former State Senator Sally Hopper, Dr. Cindy Kelly ( pediatric
oncologist), Dr. Rief (head of C.S.U. Environmental Health), Jan Wilkins
(reading a letter of her physician husband), Al Hislop (electrical
engineer) and myself all testified for the bill.
Independent film maker, Len Aitken, filmed the entire proceeding.
I think that we should tell all those we know that the broadcasters
fought hard to try to make sure that research on whether their radiation
could be harming people was stopped. This is a conspiracy of silence on
their part. If this broadcast radiation is so harmless, why did they
fight so hard to keep us from finding out the truth? Remember what they
have done and tell the world how the broadcasters tried to halt research
as the ultimate truth about EMR unfolds.
