Roy,

That hair-drier article is the editorial of the current New Scientist
magazine.  Amazingly, it preaches the opposite message to the information in
the key article, which is about the Preece study (about the most
inconsequential finding in a decade) and a study on nematodes at Nottingham
University (rather worrying, since exposed worms grew faster) and another on
raised stress levels in exposed rats.
