......For my part, I do not believe that the answer to the EMF quandary
is total abstinence..... It is obvious that electricity and the other
radio/microwave (EMF/EMR) frequencies now in question can be of great
benefit to man.... I do not seek to diminish that..... Certainly not to
end it.....

I have written before on this list (and on my web page) that our course
ought to be (1) to recognize the problem, and (2) then to learn to live
with it as safely as possible..... We can improve our "use" techniques.
We can warn the public of the most dangerous areas and uses. We can
avoid in some cases ... through reasonable regulation..... We can
mitigate, etc......

The FIRST essential steps to a proper consideration and resolution of all
of the various options require that we:
(1) admit the problem, (2) INFORM the public!!! Honestly!!!

The public has a right to know -- and, more important, the
final DECISIONS about parameters and policies belong TO THE PUBLIC....

These decisions do NOT belong to the "exploiters" -- the "special
interests" who are now in control of the process..... Industry and/or
the government.....

Cheerio.....

Dear Roy:

What about the other dead zones in forests and remote wilderness (hiking,
climbing, hunting) and on oceans (sailing), where it is MEDICALLY NECESSARY
for us to have uninterrupted cell phone service!

When I talk about the possible cell phone microwave hazards, people
counter:"That's wrong, cell phones save lives, ambulance (by car or
helicopters) can reach you and safe you from dying in case of serious
accidents.

That's true!

Truer is, that the industry, the government angencies and the people don't
want to accept the fact that there are so many evidences available about
connecttions between adverse health effects and cell phoine
microwaves. There are more disadvantages (suffering environment: humans,
animals and plants, ...including the ignorent cell phone users!) than cell
phone do good. by saving one or two persons per month or per year from
dying in an accident! Accident can be avoided by being more defensively
during any activity, even while drivingcars.
Truer is, that because people think by being in contact with civilization
during remote hiking, climbing, sailing,... they can risk more and be less
equipped for emergency cases..
Truer is, that before our present cell phone user generation the people
managed to live without wireless 911, they even used to live without 911 at
all!.
Truer is that whereever people are living , they are supplied with
electricity. Whereever there is electricity, there are electric
transmission and/or distribution line poles, on which fibre optic telephone
lines can be attached hence there is abolute no need for more cell towers!

WE did not ask for cell phones! THEY introduced the cell phones!
WE do not have to prove, that cell phones are NOT save. THEY have to prove
that cell phones ARE safe!

Our parents and ancestors lived without cell phones, we can do so as well!

Hans.

Hi Roy,

Our local area is said to be in a "dead zone" for cell phone signals, but
that appears to be changing fast (as expected). In an ironic and tragic
twist, the Health & Human Services Board of St. Croix County, Wisconsin is
actually considering whether to lease space on top of a water tower at the
county Health Center (a long-term care facility for our elderly citizens)
to Aerial Communications, Inc. (The proposed alternatives are barely
better!)

A question for the veterans of these battles:

Our local paper, The News (of New Richmond) quotes an Aerial real estate
specialist as saying "We are required by law to offer service that will at
least allow users to call 911 for emergencies, but with all the hills and
valleys between Stillwater and the Somerset-New RIchmond area, that hasn't
been easy to provide." Am I correct in assuming that this company
spokesman is really DISTORTING the meaning of the law (which I believe,
correct me if I'm wrong, only requires that they allow users to dial 911
free of charge IF they do provide any cellular service) for the carefully
crafted purpose of making our citizens and government officials think that
it is actually MEDICALLY NECESSARY for us to have uninterrupted cell phone
service!!!

Any thoughts on how to diffuse this propaganda would be appreciated!

Wayne
