Brenda:

I laughed with you at your question! Sometimes movements are so amorphous
that it is hard to know! Only afterwards, when there is some hindsight
persepctive do we know what that movement was all about. In this issue, we
already know what it is all about. This is a citizen-led movement - a
truly spontaneous grassroots movement. The impact of the wireless telecom
buildout in this country is activating people like I haven't seen in a
couple of decades. People do not like it when they dfind out that their
rights are impaired or preempted and local governemnt is unable to
represent them. They find it hard to believe that no one is "minding the
store".

It can be any of those "titles" you came up with. The one I prefer is
"concerned citizen".The other titles you suggest are limiting, overly
technical or superflous, in my opinion. Concerned citizen fits best in my
opinion as we are seeking to make democracy work. We are in a debate about
the future - questioning the validity and the wisdom of a set of values,
expectations, a major business plan - about the way the future should be.
Telecommunications is a major puzzle piece in that future scenario.

As Roy and many others on this list point out - we already know that this
future is here and it is causing serious problems. We need to get the
facts, network, educate and inform others - promote and elect political
representatives who can make a difference, etc. Make this a major
campaign issue for the upcoming coming elections. Support campaign reform
legislation.
