Buxton has no specific ordinance dealing with cell towers. We are in the public hearing phase of the planning board in reviewing a Conditional Use Application to allow the tower. The applicant is ATC Realty which is the local realty arm of Spectrum Resources, LLP of Falls Church, VA. A conditional use can be opposed IF the use would have an adverse affect on adjacent property. Spectrum submitted appraisal reports from 2 communities in Massachusetts and 1 in Southern New Hampshire that purport to show that there is "no negative impact to abutting or adjacent properties." We must be able to refute these appraisals with other appraisals which illustrate the negative affect that towers or other structures have on property in rural zones. I did discover the report submitted by the assessor in the North Barrington, IL case and we are looking for more. Any direction that you could point us in would be appreciated. -- Warren R.
