Subject: PROTECTION FROM EMF

We are currently fighting a proposal by "Orange" to site a base station
and transmitter for their mobile phone network inside a water tower about
80m from our house.  There are several other residents at about the 100m
mark and at least two familiies much closer.

The local planning authority bases its safety assessment on NRPB
guidelines, which, as you know, do not address non-thermal, low
intensity, long term effects.  We are likely to lose this battle despite
invoking the "Precautionary Principle".

Can you tell us what technical facts we need to calculate the likely
field strength we may have to endure, and are there any ways we can
screen our house to reduce the levels inside?

Can anyone out there help?
