........May I reinforce Janet Newton's message below -- calling for
comment (particualrly from other community zoning and regulating
bodies) to be submitted to the FCC prior to the May 15th deadline.....

The numbers and the strength of public comment can be important in
these matters...... Make sure your voice (or the voice of your
community) is heard......!!!!

Cheerio.....

> Schmidt and Howlett (VRSH), a Grand Rapids, MI, law firm that represents
> municipalities, counties, and their related national organizations across
> the country. Their posting outlines the history of the Lookout
> Mountain, CO, proceedings with the FCC in denying the proposed HDTV tower
> there. It also outlines what steps can be taken to file comment with the
> FCC about preemption of the Jeffferson County decision to deny this
> permit. The tower companies (Cedar Group) are seeking to reverse the
> Jefferson county decision.....

> This is an unprecedented move by the FCC to put this
> broadcaster's request to overturn the zoning denial out for public
> comment. All local and county planning and zoning officials on this list
> need to give this a close look, and consider submitting their own comment
> or joining in the comment being prepared by VRSH. Concerned citizens on
> this list need to get this information to their local and county boards.
