Roy,

The electrician mentioned that his primary tumor was in the pituitory
gland. Elevated risks of pituitary cancers were reported by Floderus,
Tornqvist et al. (1994) in railway occupations with high magnetic field
exposures (drivers, conductors, etc.).  

However, EMF exposures were assessed only by job titles, not measurements
on the subjects (although subsequent measurements on a few individuals
showed high magnetic field magnitudes, e.g. an average of 40 mG in
locomtive drivers).  Another problem in extrapolating this result to the
electrician is that the electric railways in Sweden operate at 16 2/3 Hz,
rather than 60 Hz with AC electricity in the U.S.  

On the other hand, both pituitary and male breast cancer are
hormonally-related cancers, which fits with the melatonin hypothesis.
