(fwd) Dear Marjorie, I agree in your wish for investigation! - But remember what Morten Lande wrote recently - Norway is world leader (by far) in many of these new diseases, and here there is only electricity, for everything. It is such a marked difference that perhaps it is enough to take a total usage of electricity on the home-level against the prevalence of these diseases, to get a pointer. In addition the norwegian electric system is an odd one - not being an electrician I never remember the terms, but it is way out compared to most other countries (Norway and Albania share it!!). In Sweden where I grew up cooking is mainly done on electric stoves (wasn't my mother happy when she got one very early on, and didn't have to have that scary gas in the house!!!) - but heating is more often via waterfilled radiators, from a central heatsource in the cellar, or distant.
