I hope I don't embarrass Chris (I don't mean to), but I think his
preliminary remark (below) -- about the epidemiological evidence as
presented in San Francisco by Dr. Goldsmith -- is something all of
you should share....

Dear Roy:

I'm working on the summation of the Goldsmith meeting. It takes me a
couple of drafts. Should have something for you by Wednesday or
Thursday. Dr. Goldsmith swept away a lot of irrelevant detail and left
us thunderstruck by how clear the epidemiological record is despite the
variations that appear among the studies. Thanks for the reminder and
the interest. Sorry these reports don't flood out of me like a daily
