(fwd) I'd like to know whether any epidemiological studies have been done relating Alzheimer's disease in women to the kind of stove they cooked on: electric or gas. If my own mother's Alzheimer's disease was due to exposure to electromagnetic fields, it had to be from the electric stove she used for cooking all her married life. [Her stove had the old-style burner coils, where the current flowed in a spiral. There is a newer style of electric stove burner that has the current flow in both directions, which to some degree can cancel the gross magnetic field.] Perhaps such studies should be done not just on people with diabetes, and with Alzheimer's disease, but also on people with autoimmune diseases of all kinds; for example, multiple sclerosis. Women are far more often affected by autoimmune diseases than men are, and no one knows why. Perhaps it is because they so often do the cooking, and because many modern city apartments are all-electric, they cook on electric stoves. -- Marjorie ===================================== ---"Roy L.
