If you take a near-field microwave "sniffer" probe near to many of these wired earpieces you find a very high E-field right at the earphone! This seems to be due to the wire working like a long wire antenna and so the 'far end' (where the earpiece is) has a large microwave e-field on it. None of then seem to incorporate ferrites on the wires to stop this happening. The ONLY safe answer is not to use one at all. That would do away with the need for the towers too! If we have cell phone users we will also be surrounder by base stations.
