Have managed to locate Dr Andrew Marino's website again thanks to Louis
Slesin's links on .  You'll find him at
http://www.ortho.lsumc.edu/Faculty/Marino/Marino.html.  Well worth a visit.

I am afraid that I was wrong about his book "The Electric Wilderness"  (San
Francisco Press, 1986) being there.  I emailed Dr Marino and he says that he
cannot post it on his site as the copyright is still owned by the
publishers.

Anyway, it should be compulsory for all to read Chapter 4 on the evolution
of the microwave thermal standard and let's hope that some way can be found
to achieve this within the copyright laws.

I find it incredible that for over fifty years we in the west have been
forced to accept a standard which is only suitable for mannequins filled
with salt-water.  Maybe with Italy and Switzerland breaking ranks, the truth
will slowly prevail.  Maybe . . . .
