The perception of sound associated with 'RF hearing' varies with pulse width and pulse-repetition rate and is described as a click, buzz, chirp. Because this effect is a function of instantaneous peak energy deposition and pulse width, average whole-body SAR's are not useful parameters. Although the effects of RF hearing on health are not now known, the experience may be annoying and stressful." [Federal Register, Vol. 51, No. 146, Wed. July 30, 1986, EPA: Federeal Radiation Protection Guidance: Proposed Alternatives for Controlling Public Exposure to Radiofrequency Radiation; Notice of Proposed Recommendations, pp-27317-27339, quotation from page 27327] Also, there are additional reports from EPA and others that with the advent of digital wireless telecommunications there is a dramatic increase in people reporting the pain you feel. Please let me know if you would like me to fax these to you. FCC RF/microwave radiation limit guidelines are not intended to prevent the pain you feel. Such pain can occur when radiation levels are well within FCC RF exposure limit guidelines. [........We probably should not dignify the notion that the FCC has ANY regulation in effect..... The "guidelines" they use have nothing **whatsoever** to do with health effects.....!!! The FCC "guidelines" exist to minimize "electronic" interference between other RF and MW transmitting and receiving stations..... They have NOTHING to do with PEOPLE..... More aburd than that, though, is the fact that THEY DON"T EVEN MONITOR their own regulatory limits.... Ask the folks at LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN about that???.......guru.......] I am not well versed on what you can do to prevent or mitigate your pain. I don't know if moving is an option for you. Also with this radiation becoming ubiqutous there may be 'no place to hide.' You may wish to contact the Cellular Phone Taskforce whose concerns are focused on persons, like yourself, who are particularly sensitive to radio frequency (RF) and microwave radiation. There phone # is: 718-434-4499, addressL P.O. Box 100404,Brooklyn, NY, 11210. Also, there are things you may do to mitigate the strength of the signal in your home, or at least in the room where you sleep. Basically, anything that absorbs RF energy can help mitigate the effects. Some people have suggested planting heavy vegetation that has high water content. There are companies that can install materials on or in the walls of your home that may mitigate effects. One company like this that I am aware of - but do not have any information upon which I can make a recommendation or not, is: TECKNIT Shielding Systems, 838 Main Avenue, Passaic, NJ 07055. Tel: 201-778-6200, Fax: (201) 778-2177. There are different systems they can suggest including special electrically conductive paints to expensive shielding systems. While I received a brochure from this company I know nothing more about it, so do not take this information in any way as a recommendation. Also, I suggest you check with your local public library reference desk or other sources to learn of other companies providing a similar service. Also, it is possible that some type of protective head covering, such as something that would appear like a bicycle riding helmet could protect your head. There is strong evidence that the pain you feel is due to the rapid thermoelastic expansion of your brain when it absorbs the pulsed RF signals. By wearing some kind of helmet with RF insulating or reflective materials, it is possible you can get some relief, at least in the short term, while you are seeking long term solutions. Perhaps TECKNIT may have some suggestions. Also, some 'hi-tech' computer mail-order companies or stores may offer such 'hats'. You might also contact the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Dr. Greg Lotz of NIOSH may have some suggestions about head or other protection to prevent or mitigate the pain you feel. The phone # I have for him is 513-533-8153, fax: 513-533-8139 or 5338510, at NIOSH Division of Biomedical and Behavioral Science, Physical Effects Branch, 4676 Columbia Parkway, Cincinnati Ohio 45226. I hope the above is helpful. Yours, David Fichtenberg, President, Ad-Hoc Assoiation. ============================================== Deb Carney wrote: > > > -------- Original Message -------- > Subject: Electrophonic Effects from cell tower (Hicks)..
