Dear Roy:

With regard to Mr. Ross's concern for truth-telling in scientific
circles and not casually tossing around words like "lies," I would quote
this written comment from Dr. John Goldsmith which was made in 1998.

"Recently the World Health Organization and German Radiation Protection
agencies and some others sponsored an International Seminar on
"Biological Effects of Non-Thermal Pulse and Amplitude Modulated RF
Electromagnetic Fields and Related Health Hazards."

"The Report of the Meeting was published in Bioelectromagnetics, vol 19,
pp. 1–19, 1998 as a Review Article, with the title "Low Level Exposure
to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields: Health Effects and Research
Needs" by Dr. Michael Repacholi for the World Health Organization. The
abstract says: 'It was concluded that, although hazards from exposure to
high-level (thermal) radiofrequency fields were established, no known
health hazards were associated with exposures to radiofrequency emitting
fields too low to cause significant temperature rise in tissue.'

"As a participant in the meeting, I can affirm that no such conclusions
were made; furthermore many presentations showed health hazards
associated with non-thermal exposure conditions.

"It is a task for scientists and their organizations, including public
health organizations like the World Health Organization, to avoid such
distortions of evidence. If they and we cannot do so, we do not deserve
public trust nor support."

This selection was published in a collection of Dr. Goldsmith's
reprinted papers and shorter written observations that I edited under
the title, "The End of Innocence." The title was taken from Dr.
Goldsmith's turning point commentary concerning radiofrequency
exposures, included in the publication. The collection may still be
available for purchase through Libby Kelley's Council on Wireless
Telecommunication Impacts.

One next step to which credible scientists such as Mr. Ross might
participate in terms of uncovering "evidence" and "truth" would be to
pursue de-classification of American studies of the Soviet microwave
attack on the American embassy in Moscow as well as the undoubtedly
numerous and still-classified U.S. Air Force biological studies of
electromagnetic and radiofrequency radiation.

Best always,

Christopher Beaver
