Subject: monitor safety

Hello Connie,

Here are two suggestions for determining the safety of your
monitor.
1. Contact the manufacturer and find out if your model meets or exceeds
the MPRII standard (which came out of Sweden and is widely understood
by monitor producers)
2. Get a milligauss meter and hold it on edge 11.8 inches from the face
of
the display tube along the axis of that tube. You should read no more
than
2 milligauss. You hold the meter on edge to sense the magnetic field
from
the vertical scan frequency which usually is in the 60-80 Hertz (cycles
per second)
range.

Felicitations,
Ed Maxey
