Dear Larry & friends,

In the winter of 1997 SPRINT wanted to erect a tower at Hammock Pointe
Elementary in Boca Raton, FL. SPRINT's tower would have been 220 ft. from
the wall of a house in my development "Trends at Boca Raton." As we were
fighting this tower the president of my homeowner association wrote a
letter to SPRINT CEO. In the response letter dated 3-31-97 SPRINT wrote:

"Several studies of actual property values before and after installation of
cellular telephone antennas have been conducted by third-party experts in
various types of neighborhoods and in different parts of the nation. Each
study has uniformly concluded that telephone antennas have no measurable
positive or negative impact on property values."

The president of the Trends HOA wrote immediately to SPRINT 4-7-98,
"I am eager to see these studies. Would you kindly send a copy of these
studies to me ASAP to help the Trends Homeowners Association make a well
informed decision about the placement of cell towers in the heart of
densely populated neighborhoods and schools."

SPRINT RESPONSE 4-10-97

I REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT WE DO NOT DEEM IT APPROPRIATE TO VOLUNTEER
THESE VARIOUS VALUATION STUDIES. THE STUDIES INVOLVE SIGNIFICANT
EXPENDITURES ON OUR PART, AND AS FAR AS WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE,
NONE AT HAND RELATE SPECIFICALLY TO YOUR COMMUNITY.

Judge it for yourself...

I will be more than happy to fax these letter to Larry if it will be of any
help. Also, do you have a copy of S. Bill 1350 with US Sen Leahy address.
Mark section talking about real estate and the reduce enjoyment form ones
home etc as well as in HR3016 and give it to your council members.
Remember you don't need to prove anything, you need to cast a doubt in
their hearts so that they'll vote it down. You need to discredit SPRINT
rather than be scientific. That's what FACTS did successfully in Florida.

SPRINT relocated a tower in the Boca Woods Country Club this fall. This
tower was built illegally some 50 ft. away from Murray Stock home, a
retired resident. Why did he fight it and SPRINT ended up moving it away
from his home. I have newspaper clips about it.

Good luck

Shoshana in Boca Raton, FL
