Aluminum Foil won't work...It has to be something iron based. Mu metal is a
nickel/iron alloy about the thickness of foil which blocks EM radiation. But
it takes some knowledge to use it. If you bend it too much it loses this
protective property.

I currently use a monitor from Safe Technologies Corp. which is liquid crystal
with no illumination source. You have to shine a desk lamp from the back to
see the screen. 
However, it has ZERO radiation.  It's a compromise visually, but for the very
sensitive it solves the problem.
