Over the next few weeks, the FCC will sell off 422 wireless licenses covering 195 markets. The auction could raise $15 billion or more, according to some estimates. The early offers, however, suggest that the auction is probably on track to raise closer to $10 billion. Roy, this spectrum is 'publically' owned and yet the FCC, a federal agency, lobbied by the wireless industry, sells off what it has NO right to. We all end up in an ever deepening microwave soup so geeks and teens can listen to music, crash their cars whilst blabbing and watch very poor video on tiny screens. I hope 2001 will be the year of the cancer quite frankly, and the year of Alberos...
