Lundquist"To: rbeavers@mail.llion.org Subject: Activist update (Feb. 25th MAI hearing) Roy, please post this. I phoned the subcommittee office this morning and learned that the MAI hearing apparently is going to be short (there are only 4 or 5 people who are scheduled to testify) and balanced (2 in favor, 2 against). I asked if my letter could be included in the hearing record, and was told YES. I then asked if it could be read aloud at the hearing, so others could comment on it, if they wished. As I expected, there was reluctance to do this--but I was told that it could be included in the "member packet" to be distributed. I said I would send a copy by EXPRESS MAIL today, so it arrives tomorrow, in order to be sure they would have it in time to put it in that packet! Anyone else who wishes to express themselves on this should put a letter in the mail to the Subcommittee TODAY and should send it by EXPRESS MAIL (or some other overnight service) and if you put in your letter that you want it entered into the official record of the hearing and distributed to those attending, I think this will probably be done! -- Marjorie P.S. I requested, and will be sent, a witness list, but I won't receive it for several days, as I did not provide a FAX number, so it is being mailed to me. *************************************************************************** Marjorie Lundquist, Ph.D., C.I.H.
