The EFA-2 has internal clock and memory capacity for a site survey, but it is only useful for E- and H-field measurements from 5Hz to 30kHz, so a communications site survey will likely require another model, either W&G or from another manufacturer, to cover the range beyond 30kHz. (We use a Narda 8718 with probes shaped to our new US standards to give a quick reading, in percentage of allowable exposure, of all the emitters up to 40 GHz in the case of E field, simultaneously. Since we are almost always concerned first about total exposure - as opposed to emission from a particular antenna - this is a very helpful first step in the site survey. It also allows for more likely success in an unannounced inspection!) The W&G meters do not offer shaped-response probes, but are much lighter than the Narda and do not require as bothersome meter-zeroing as the Narda. The chap using it claimed it concurrently measured several frequency-ranges, and in the display would show any peaks of any frequency, etc. How good is this?? with warm greetings, Ingrid High >> Archive provided courtesy of WaveGuide, http://www.wave-guide.org Reprinted with permission of Roy Beavers, http://www.feb.se/EMF-L/EMF-L.html
