Hi: Do either of you know when Congress will meet re the latest NIEHS/RAPID
report? With our immunologist having told us the low immune problems in this
family (two young boys) are "very unusual" and learning two years later that
"the same gene that causes leukemia causes hypogammaglobulinemia, I feel what
I can tell will help toward confirming the latest conclusion of "possible
connection between EMF's and childhood leukemia."
As to the 5mg readings found in the Oslo condo, it sounds more like wiring
problems rather than appliance EMF's. In the past, I have checked our home
almost "round the clock" with a Magnetic Field Meter from MSI (Magnetic
Sciences International). Our readings drop off as I move toward the back of
the house, out onto the patio and down to a zero reading in the backyard.
The front of our house is only 50ft. from 64M and 230M lines. It is very
common for us to have readings of 4mg well after 10:30pm (the power companies
would have us believe the "fields" drop way off at night when factories,
shopping centers, etc. shutdown high demands. From my experience, this is
definitely not true.
Back to the subject.... I checked a distant neighbor's home and find no EMF
readings unless I stand directly in front of their TV set and one spot on a
wall above a chair which is where the wiring comes down the wall. There the
readings were 3-4 mg with higher readings on the outlet and directly on the
wall.
I have found no instance in our home where the appliances contribute
significantly to any EMF readings unless within 1-2 feet of the appliance.
After that, either the field from the appliance interacts with our "continuous
fields -- whatever they may be at the time) or I am simply picking up the
field going through the house at the time. I say this because as I move back
away from the appliance, sometimes I get a reading lower than the prevailing
reading in the house. Of course, this can be from temporary disorientation of
the sensor also. Obviously not really concerned about a lower reading anyway.
I am absolutely convinced that "THEY" want the public to focus on fields from
appliances and are using that analogy to defuse what could erupt into a
greater concern especially for persons like us who can't afford to move out of
the home we built back in 1956. Both my husband and I are disabled due to
clotting disorders, medication sensitivities, "unusual connective tissue
problems", etc. and Bud is now age 65.
The lines that go by our home were "shoved down our throats" in spite of our
public protests. It is nice to know our City wouldn't allow them to be put
across city property (obviously to protect citizens and avoid lawsuits). The
sacrifice a few for the good of the majority theory.....
Any information re pending Congressional Report will be greatly appreciated!
