Hi everybody:

We are getting new people so fast that I cannot help them all
myself..... Besides, I know (and you know) that we have people
"out there" who are better qualified than I......

So, somebody who feels a communion of spirit with this lady's
story, please jump in here and help her along to understand
"where the bodies are buried" in this tremendously complex EMF
subject....

Brenda, the answers will not all come at once -- nor will they come
from just one source......

Cheerio.....

Roy:

Thank you for adding me to your list.

I am one of 6 residents in the city of Newton, MA who have filed a lawsuit
appealing a Special Permit granted by the Board of Alderman to American
Tower Systems for the construction of a brand new 5 football field high
broadcast tower across the street from my house -- on the banks of the
Charles River on the Needham/Newton line.

The current tower on the site was built in the 1950's and is now obsolete.
It has 7 antennas on it. ATS admits publicly that the equipment currently up
there leaks excessive amounts of radiation. The new tower would have 43
whips and antennas on it for AM, FM, HDV, TV and cell phone transmissions.
Industry specialists claim the new tower will be safer in terms of lowered
amounts of radiation emitted. But what will happen when inevitably that
tower becomes obsolete? It will leak excessive amounts of radiation from 43
whips and antennas!!!

Eleven months after I moved here in 1993, I went on prescription medication
for throbbing headaches that I had never had before. These headaches still
occur almost daily. They tire me out, have changed my personality and have
diminished my quality of life...

I never knew that these headaches could be the result of living near
transsmission towers (I live in the middle of 5 of them) until ATS applied
for the special permit and all of this came out.

ATS has about another 60 days to decide if they are going to abandon the
project, file a motion to dismiss our appeal, file a motion for summary
judgement or whatever. Since our lawsuit is not frivolous, we think ATS may
file a motion for the summary judgement.

Ultimately, whatever happens remains to be seen but in the meantime
construction of this monstrous tower has been stooped in its tracks.

I am interested in learning about similar cases going on in other
communities across the USA.
