The couple's attorney, Thomas W. Sankey of Sankey & Luck, L.L.P., said GTE Mobilnet spent over $400,000 fighting this "precedent setting" lawsuit because they fear it will open the floodgates to similar suits. " GTE Mobilnet is right. My phone hasn't stopped ringing since the verdict. I asked this jury to make GTE Mobilnet afraid to trample the rights of homeowners. The jury spoke." The Judge will decide whether the tower violates the City's zoning ordinance and whether the tower must be moved. The damages included loss of property value, loss of use and enjoyment of their property, mental anguish and attorneys' fees. Pre-judgment interest should bring the verdict to $1.5 million.
