Beavers" Subject: Church Board Votes to Rescind Sprint Contract Dear Roy: Step by step... Robert Peterson, President of the Board, First Church of the Covenant, and an attorney, announced to the neighbors of the Church that the Board has voted to rescind their antenna contract with Sprint. The Board also passed two resolutions: the first makes explicit their support for the neighbors of the Church; while the second calls for the Church to return a $2000 deposit to Sprint. Confirmation of the Board's decision requires the vote of the congregation due to take place during the first week of March. Peterson told prime neighborhood organizer Shelagh Hughes (mother of Tracey Hughes who designed our anti-cellphone graphic) that a Sprint representative reiterated the vow (threat? as in bully?) to install an antenna within one block of the Church. So, today, for the moment, the sun shines brightly in San Francisco's Mission District.
