A laptop computer is usually using a power supply providing 15V to the Computer. This supply is most often double insulated. Meaning it does not carry the earth wire to the computer. According to my measurements, using Combinowa FD1 magnetic/electric field meter, the electric field just above the computer's surface is 3000V/m when using the power supply. It is much more than a normal desktop computer emits. To use a laptop it is necessary to earth the computer to electrical earth or nearest plumbing.= =20 Best regards Valdemar Gisli Valdemarsson phone: 896-6110 http://www.simnet.is/vgv Iceland [.........Note: to "earth" the computer is to "ground" the computer -- in Americanese......guru.....] ------=_NextPart_000_0062_01BF6DD1.AC14CCE0-- Archive provided courtesy of WaveGuide, http://www.wave-guide.org Reprinted with permission of Roy Beavers, http://www.emfguru.com
