Roy,
Marjorie's note was very thoughtful and well written. I would like to remind
everyone, though, that in some of Carl Blackman's experiments an explicit
attempt was made to determine whether the external electric field was
significant. It was found that the magnitude of the electric field could be
varied through a wide range without changing the outcome of the experiment
significantly; whereas, the experiment's outcome was quite sensitive to the
magnitude of the fluctuating magnetic field and whether it was oriented along
the earth's steady magnetic field. Thus, in at least some experiments an
effort was made to isolate bioeffects due to fluctuating electric fields and
none were found.
