Subject: (Goldsmith) (Blatt) RFR Research (fwd) Date: Mon, 4 Jan 1999 042000 -0600 (CST) From: "Roy L. Beavers" <rbeavers@llion.org> To: emfguru <rbeavers@llion.org> -------------------------------------------------- ........For Eric Blatt, perhaps the point in John Goldsmith's message below is that there is NOT "much research going on" in the cell phone industry (or the government) on the RF effects you ask about. Some of us who have watched this saga over a number of years (MICROWAVE NEWS has covered it extensively) believe that there is a ***deliberateness*** in this avoidance of research.....Wireless Technology Research (mentioned below) has managed to squander some $25 million of industry money without producing any meaningful studies either way. Again, this has been fully covered by MICROWAVE NEWS (mwn@pobox.com). No doubt, however, the industry considers this money well spent. It has enabled them to continue spreading their EMF pollution without interference by anyone who might raise questions about the possible health effects....... When you attend your meeting with the industry officials -- you might ask them about the Lee Atwater and Mike Synar cases??? Both of these instances involve prominent politicians who died of brain cancer after EXTENSIVE use of their cell phones during political campaigns...."Did their families receive a settlement of some kind to prevent further public discussion of their cases?" John Goldsmith has published a paper that examines the effects of RF (antenna) transmissions, "The End of Innocence".....It also raises questions about the wisdom of willy-nilly exposing the public to such emissions......I have a brief review of that paper on my web-site (EMFguru #2-98)......guru...... ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 4 Jan 1999 11:13:12 +0200 (IST) From: John GoldsmithTo: "Roy L. It is having its second state of the art meeting on 1-2 Februry in WAshington. Write them for thier first reportat 1711 N Street Suite 400, Washington DC 20036-281. Good Luck John R.
