It was published in the periodical EPIDEMIOLOGY, of which Rothman is the editor. Arlene expressed her opinion regarding the Rothman study as follows: "The problem is that the study does not differentiate between analog and digital technology based phones and therefore is useless in my opinion." Last summer I read Rothman's epidemiology study and found a number of problems with it, including the one that Arlene mentioned. I wrote a letter to the editor of EPIDEMIOLOGY criticizing this study and submitted it for publication. My letter was finally accepted, and I am told that it is scheduled to be published in the May 1999 issue of EPIDEMIOLOGY. The criticism that Arlene made is a major one included in my letter. Once my letter is published, then this criticism will have been published in the scientific literature, so it will be a part of that literature, and will be available for citation by others. -- Marjorie ********************************* Marjorie Lundquist, Ph.D., C.I.H.
