Paolo,

Robert Rieldlinger referred your inquiry to me, I would like to
say emphatically that you should not renew the contract for the cell
phone tower.

Further, you should require the cell phone company to have an independent
consultant make a radiation survey at vulnerable areas in and around your
building. It would be desirable to have radiation densities as low 0.1
microwatt per square centimeter, but you will probably not be able to require
that. Any reading above 1 or 2 microwatts per square centimeter whould be a
warning sign. Be sure that all measurements are made when someone is using a
cell phone that will cause the base station on your building to be active -
otherwise you will get a deceptively small radiation measurement.

The recent scientific literature suggests some health concerns. Recently
(1997), Salford et al. in Sweden have opening of the blood brain barrier at
radiation exposure levels 4,000 times lower than what the U.S. government says
is safe. (This means for frequencies around 900 Mhz, the equivalent incident
radiation density is about 0.15 microwatts per square centimeter.)

Jerry Phillips, et all observed DNA molecule breakage with one type of
cell phone modulation protocol (and not with another protocol) at
radiation exposure levels 700 times lower than what the U.S. government
says is safe. (This means for frequencies around 900 Mhz radiation
densities is about 6/7 of a microwatt per square centimeter. You can
examine an entire table of published biological effects associated with
various level of radiation exposure at the web site given by
http://www.ccwti.org/science/studies.html.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me. I am not
an expert on bioelectromagnetics, but I do have expertise in a few areas
of electromagnetics, and I have been studying what otehr people have
published about bilogical effects of electromagnetic fields for about two
years.

Good luck and may God Bless you and your family.
