To: "'bearlak1@telusplanet.net'" CC: "'roy@emfguru.com'" ,"'aphilips@gn.apc.org'" Dear Mr. Watson, Data on magnetic field exposures to welders (including arc welders) is summarized in the publication "QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: EMF IN THE WORKPLACE. ELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC FIELDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF ELECTRIC POWER", which is available on the Internet: http://www.niehs.nih.gov/emfrapid/html/Q&A-Workplace.html or from the NIOSH publication office (1-800-35-NIOSH). Look particularly at the table on p. 37, and its references on 53. There are more papers on magnetic fields from arc welding, and I have some unpublished data. I'ld be happy to share this if you could tell me more about your concerns. (Watson). ........Question from EMF-L....... There was a good deal of information on this some ten years or so ago. Not much has been heard about it since. But there is a history here that some of our readers are likely to be able to recall.....guru.... Thanks. Happy New Year! Your hard work is much appreciated around the world. Any repliers, please cc to me: thanks. Alasdair ----------------------------------------------------- Return-Path: From: "Bearlak1" To: Subject: EMF & industry Date: Tue, 19 Dec 2000 07:47:42 -0700 I am looking for information specifically on EMF regarding welding machines and their cables. Input is 575V, output 50 - 500 amps. Also 575V input MCC control panels, electric motors also with input of 575V from 2 hp - 25 hp (?) I am a welder by trade, working in a large sawmill here in Alberta, Canada. I belong to the I.W.A. 1-207 ( Industrial Wood and Allied Workers of Canada ) union, a Director on our sawmill board and the O H & R rep on the safety committee. I represent about 130 members most of which are surrounded by and working in very close proximity to EMF for 10 - 12 hours per day. I can find all types of information on cell phones, house hold appliances, high voltage power lines but not enough on the above specifics. Can you help?
