I WILL post them in due time ... but right now I would like to keep the net clear of any other discussion until we have finished with the NCI "study." That may consume most of the rest of the week.... In case any of you haven't figured it out yet, the NCI "thing" is purely and simply a ***naked grab for power.*** The National Cancer Institute wants the money now being spent on EMF research -- pitiful little that it is...... Their contention that EMF research (which they treat as merely another form of cancer research) should be stopped ... exposes ***at least*** an indirect connection to that ALWAYS important (but even more important in times of tight budgets) question: "how the research pie is to be cut up" in the U.S. Guru says: NCI is NOT being naive when they *deliberately* ignore the the following important benefits of EMF research -- they KNOW what they are doing -- 1) The benefits of EMF research are likely to accrue to a number of other (in addition to childhood leukemia) important health "mysteries" -- like Alzheimer's, ALS (I'm cheating, can't spell it.), breast cancer (the melatonin connection), perhaps prostate cancer (also increasing as electrosmog increases in our environment) and a large number of other so-called "minor" illnesses that perhaps fall into the electrosensitivity (ES) category..... And the foregoing does not by any means exhaust the "possible" list.... 2) Also at issue here is the PRINCIPLE of medical research for the "prevention" of illness versus the "cure" of illness. (We talked about that recently on EMF-L.) It is simply a "darn" shame that NCI, like many of the rich "health" bureaucracies in the U.S. (most of whom have a greater vested interest in "cures" than "prevention") cannot see the wisdom of investing in research that points toward the PREVENTION of illness..... You may recall that Robert Bedard recently uncovered the HORRIFYING fact (which he posted to EMF-L) that AMERICA SPENDS 1% AS MUCH FOR RESEARCH ON PREVENTION OF ILLNESS AS IT DOES ON CURES!!!! It is now a fact that the U.S. "health" system (establishment) has simply become one in which ALL the vested interests (doctors, hospitals, pharmacological companies, health bureaucracies, insurance companies, etc.) have more reason to seek "cures" than prevention!!!! Follow the money!!!! (Have you heard that before.) Cures -- not prevention --that's where the money is......... Understanding that ... one could choose to be charitable toward the NCI. (I'm not, however.) ... They're just "doing what comes naturally," you might say, doing what all the other "establishment" health bureaucracies do routinely....... Well ... we who have been monitoring EMF-L for some time ... know that: The EMF research road leads toward PREVENTION ... and therefore it finds few friends in the U.S. medical establishment anywhere -- certainly not in the NCI!!!!! So ... folks ... I'd like to set a new precedent on EMF-L this week..... Let's "keep the line open for this NCI 'thing' to run its course...... It's important!!!! Cheerio.......
