Dear Roy and Everyone on EMF-L,

I believe we all feel frustrated with reports that state categorically,
"THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WITH EMFs". I agree with Gure that in spite of such
reports, we must keep on investigating all aspects of the health effects of
EMR and EMF exposure! We can agree that it is an elusive study, but we
must prevail.

One aspect of EMFs I have been wondering about is the heterodyne
phenomenon. We all know that if we sound two different notes (different
frequencies), we sometimes create a new frequency -- a beat frequency --
which is the difference between the two original frequencies. Beat color
frequencies can be created with two different colored lights, and, of
course, with different RFs. Our everyday superheterdyne radio is a good
example of the latter. So, as well as harmonics, spikes, surges, etc., we
should be aware of the heterodyne effect. As Guru suggests, there ARE
studies out there that show close relationships between exposure and
negative health effects. So, we need to know: What part(s) of the total
spectrum affect(s) the human organism? And at what intensity(ies)? And
what length(s) of exposure? ETC.? We must keep on searching.

I am pleased to report as a result of information posted on EMF-L, my wife,
Stella, and I plan on attending the First World Conference on Breast Cancer
being held in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. It so happens that we live just
100 kilometres from Kingston, and we will be able to drive there in about
one and a half hours. We are registered for the one day, Wednesday, July
16th, during which environmental factors relating to breast cancer will be
discussed. At least three sessions will be dealing with Electromagnetic
Fields and Links to Breast Cancer. It will be interesting to see what
relationships are discussed, especially in light of the recent National
Cancer Institute Study.

For your information, you may like to log onto the World Conference Web
site: "http://www.brcancerconf.kos.net", or phone them at: 613-549-1118;
FAX: 613-549-1146. There is plenty of info on the Web site, but you may
wish to phone for a more personal touch. For reservations, phone:
613-531-9210; FAX: 613-531-0626.

I will summarize our experience at the conference as soon as possible after
returning home.

Sincerely,

John D. Evans
