Allow me to add a few words to Clas Tegenfeldt's comments on the
Armstrong-Theriault epidemiological study which used high frequency
transients as the index of EMF exposure.

As Clas Tegenfeldt pointed out these are some of the strongest results ever
found --yet the only response from the electric utility industry was to
take the data away from the McGill group.

It may be too early to draw any definite scientific conclusions from this
study, but from a social and economic point of view one can conclude that
there is *no* doubt that the electric utility industry has walked away
from any commitment it may have had to get to the bottom of the EMF
health question.

Hydro-Quebec and many other utilities are pretending these data do not
exist!

A similar situation holds for Dr. Eugene Sobel's 1994 report on a link
between EMFs and Alzheimer's disease.

Where are the follow-ups??

The industry has long mnaintained that there is "no conclusive proof" of an
EMF link to disease. One should always approach such categorical argumnents
with great caution. As Professor David Bates noted in his recent book, any
time you hear such statements, they must be immediately challenged.

But for EMFs the larger issue is how can there ever be consensus when the
most interesting studies are not followed up?
