Till 1999, Germany will lower the safety-limits for nuclear radiation according to a EU rule. The limit will be reduced from 1.5 to 1.0 Milli- Sievert per person per year. However, the German environmental minister REJECTED the request by the German Association for Radiation Protection to reduce the limit 10-fold, ***"because this would mean that 80% of this country would have to be evacuated."*** They simply adapt the "safety"-limit to the present "blue" radiation levels -- sounds familiar...
