Roy , the use of tobacco, amalgam and many other un-healthy things
are mostly pure personal choices and can be remedied with personal
action.

Telecommunication "radiation" is not a personal choice - there is in
my opinion a very big difference in being exposed without consent.

[......Yes, of course. I think that everybody (even the government)
is acutely aware of this fundamental difference between tobacco and
EMF in the "social" dimensions. But, the "similarity" I was suggesting
is: that we think about the lack of full understanding about the
"mechanism (s)" in both cases, tobacco and EMF.

....In spite of that ... (though belatedly, I recognize) we nevertheless
have found our way to proceed with a public policy against the hazards of
tobacco. By inference, then, why not such a public policy against the
hazards of EMF???????

....Frankly, I sometimes get the "creepy" feeling that those who are
pushing the importance of the "mechanism" are pushing that theme on behalf
of the electric/telecommunications industries.......

....I can well understand that as a matter of scientific inquiry ...
the mechanism is an important question to be answered ... eventually.
But I see absolutely no reason why public policies of avoidance,
mitigation, regulation, etc., should be held up until that has occurred.

....Now that the government is on the verge of announcing the results of
the Minneapolis EMF RAPID report, suddenly everybody seems to want to
fall back to the next line of defense, i.e., "but we still don't know the
mechanism"!!! So what!!!!!!!.....guru....]

Maybe Marjorie was right when she asked
how many more dead bodies it takes to get action -
count the tobacco victims - that's about the number -
and only the exploding cost to the (AMERICAN) health system brought
change. Is this the only method or alternative to do it ???????????

[It is Marjorie's "tobacco" scenario that I think we should place a high
priority on NOT EMULATING!!!!.....guru.....]

I hope not.

Greetings
Wolfgang
