Hi Roy -

It is nice to have you back and information flowing again. This site has helped me a lot with my tower battle.

I have been busy the last two weeks getting ready for the ammendment to the Telecommunication Tower Ordinance to go before Austin City Cluncil.

I have sent large packets out to all City Council Members, which included pictures of the Towers in my back yard, a narrative of my situation, a copy of the Virgina Beach case, a sworn statement that to the best of their knowledge that there are no health hazards involved with the tower and if there is in the future they will remove them, and a copy of the Ordinance from Boca Raton, Fla.

I made comparisons on how much the City is spending to save the Barton Creek Salamander (endangered species) and that they are doing nothing to protect the Citizens of Austin from the tragedy of Towers in their back yards. Lets hope it gets their attention. I also copied all the press and am contacting them reguraly to get coverage on my situation and the issue as a whole.

I have also been busy looking for an alternative site for the towers. There is a 13 story Community College a mile from my home. Possibly that would be a safer place for the towers. I need to investigate all this further. I also went way back in the records of the land the towers are on and found a restriciton requiring that no development occur on a 15 degree slope. The towers are built on such a slope. I have filed a complaint and am waiting to see what the powers that be will do about it.

If anything, the City of Austin knows I am not going away! Tenacity has always been on of my strong suits!

I will keep you posted on the outcomes of all this.

Respectfully,

Beth in Austin
