Reply-to: w-m-a@reach.net Date: Thu, 4 Jun 1998 08:46:40 Hi Roy I directly sent the following answer to the inquiry . You should decide if you want to share it (in full or cut) with all, since some aspects of my opinion are not necessarily "scientificically" accepted yet, despite all this findings are based on research of real serious scientists. Greetings Wolfgang ..................................................................... The local news station most likely has a satellite antenna covered by the dome . They use domes to protect the installation. The may even use several antennas to maintain connection with different satellites. Such installation do not emit any radar signal. How ever the proximity of an airport is more likely the reason for you to receive a radar signal. Another radar use is for weather (cloud tracking). Such use is the only that could be brought in connection with a news station. Whatever the source of your radar signal is - the main issue is the strength of this signal. You should ask the person who measured the signal about that. The discussion about what level of intensity is harmful has shifted significantly in recent times. The notion that only field strengths that cause a temperature increase are hazardous can no longer be upheld. -but most government standards are still based on such (!) You also need to find out if the signal is always present. Any permanent - even only low level - radiation is hazardous. Especially in certain frequency ranges as already established 30 years ago, but the "accumulative" aspect of low level radiation was then dismissed for the benefit of "higher security". The basic layman term what radar does to you is - it "microwaves" you like you microwave food. The Microwave oven was derived from radar after they investigated what killed birds flying through the beam - they were simply "perfectly cooked" alive = dead (!). The term "nuking the food" in a microwave oven has more to it than a joke aspect. As Kirlian photography has revealed: any microwaved food looses its "aura"-field or "life force"-component reducing the value of the food to a point that many people even feel it as "less filling" than regular cooked food. An aspect naturopaths try to argument vehemently -but this is also dismissed since we measure food value only in calories! ( a pure chemical heat energy potential ) (Think of overweight caused by overeating for that reason!) You may find some detailed additional information in my articles on microwave towers at http://www.reach.net/~scherer/p/ If you have more questions feel free to ask. Regards Wolfgang W.
