Regarding the article with Upside, I do not know the history of this 
particular author but the magazine itself is rabidly pro-Silicon Valley.

Having lived there for 10 years, following it occassionally and meeting 
the founder Tony Perkins  - I would advise caution. Your alert is a good 
instinct - they are bound to have a serious technology bias.
