Hi everybody:

......Thanks to Jim Ferguson for this Washington Post excerpt!!! ....Did
I ever mention that the U.S. Vice President (Al Gore) was the Democrats
chief "pusher" for the 1996 Telecommunications Act (TCA) on the floor of
the Senate???.....

The 1996 TCA, that's the law that not only granted special favors (the
public air waves) to the telecom industry ... and promoted (made certain)
the formation of huge exploitive international conglomerates ... it also
denied basic individual and local community protections (property rights)
against those companies. Under that law the FCC (Federal Communications
Commission) has become "Czar" of America's electronic environment.

And yet ... the FCC at the same time is able to dodge any responsibility
for the health and safety consequences of what they do!!!!! Ask the folks
at LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN......

"We're not responsible for health matters," says the FCC. "That's the
responsibility of America's RICH health bureaucracies......"

The excerpts from the Washington Post (below) are but the tip of an
iceberg of public exploitation by the "exploding" telecom industry ... by
and with the connivance of Al Gore and the Democrats..... You know --
the Democrats -- the party of the common man.... In fact, these days
they "out-republican" the Republicans!!!

The Republicans would be just as bad, you say, if they were in the White
House..... You're right!!!

Our oligarchical system of campaign contributions makes this sort of
thing a cinch as well as a certainty..... Remember what I was telling you
a year or so ago ... about those who were "buying" the White House
bedrooms.....

Maybe Bill Bradley is going to offer us a genuine alternative??? That is
beginning to look like a possibility..... We should not expect much
difference from "Wall Street" George..... (Take a good look at his
line-up of contributors. That, too, is but the tip of an iceberg.....)

Cheerio.....(Thanks, Jim, for the following....)

 The Insiders Behind Gore
Well-Connected Lobbyists Are Campaign's Core

By Susan B. Glasser and John Mintz

Washington lobbyist Peter Knight, invariably described as "like a brother"
to Vice President Gore, is leading the Gore campaign's $55 million
fund-raising strategy. At the same time, Knight is providing corporate
clients like telecom powerhouse Bell Atlantic and defense giant Lockheed
Martin with intelligence on inside White House thinking.

Roy Neel, a former Gore chief of staff so close to the vice president that
he arranged the memorial service for Gore's father, makes a reported
$500,000 a year as president of the U.S. Telephone Association. Today, he
lobbies administration officials on behalf of phone companies even as he
continues to advise the vice president and his staff on telecommunications
policy and conduct "special projects" for the Gore campaign

Neel moved to the White House with Gore as his chief of staff in 1993. But
he left later that year to take the helm of USTA. Now, he plays a leading
role in telecommunications policy on behalf of the Baby Bells.

But the former sportswriter and Navy public affairs officer in Vietnam said
he feels a "pride of authorship" as Gore's top telecommunications adviser
and said he still counsels the vice president's staff on the subject.
