.......Thanks, Wolfgang.....  Yeah, you are right about the ownership
of America's HUGE TV conglomerates by "vested interests" like GE.....

.......But, that's not the only problem.  Even when the "owner" is not
a GE....  What we get any more on U.S. TV news is a solid dose of
"promotion" for the broadcasting network's shows....  

Example, Mickey Mouse owns ABC and that is what we get -- promotion for
the Disney channel programs on ABC!!!.....  ABC's "news" these days -- in
terms of the subject matter covered -- is a solid run of promoting 'pop
culture' inanity....  

They must assume that the average news viewer these days has about a
junior high school level of news comprehension......  
Their morning show has degenerated into two hours of Oprah Winfrey type
"stuff."  (All the networks seem to be trying to "be" or beat Oprah.)  At
least that was my last impression.....  I stopped watching those shows 
some months back.....   Jim Lehrer (U. of Missouri grad.) is all we've
got left in the way of TV "news" reporting anymore.....

Still, it is alarming the way PBS is sheltering itself within the "media"
crowd on this EMF/EMR issue.....   They are among those most guilty of
"who gives a damn about the public health risk" in the Lookout Mountain
case........Thanks for your message, Wolfgang......  I will
certainly plan to catch the show you cite below.....guru......

Hi Roy 

If a PBS item makes the Canadian news pages,
it is for sure worth watching --
especilly if it is about:
"Free speech is fine, but can you afford it "
as our newspaper titled it....

It looks into how news are manipulated, oppressed, distorted
and outright falsified by examples from the current US situation

This is very related to our EMF issue 
with the permanent "non conclusive" and " no problem" messages 
[about health effect of EMF] from the telecom and electrical industry 
-- that in a large part owns and controls the media.
(GE owns NBC for example - many do not know that)

The program is scheduled to air on PBS
coming TUESDAY AT 9:00 PM EST.....
