Hi Roy    -     I have recently been reviewing a whole lot of information 
regarding "ionizing radiation" partly due to occasional references by you and 
others on the list and the more I read, the more I am convinced the end 
result of low dose ionizing radiation is the same as that of low dose 
nonionizing radiation.   In either case, health effects are strongly related 
to duration of exposure, repeat exposures, etc.

Leukemia is a cancer that is linked to both kinds of radiation.  There are 
numerous other parallels that I choose to forego for the sake of brevity but 
plan to outline soon.  

I feel compelled to mention a website "Human Radiation Experiments - Oral 
Histories" that can be accessed by inputting:

The information from an interview of Dr. John Gofman, M.D., PhD (researcher 
Univ., Calif., Berkeley), conducted on 12-20-94 in San Francisco, Calif. by 
Loretta Hefner (archivist for the Lawrence Berkeley Lab) and Karoline 
Gourley,(researcher for the Office of Human Radiation Experiments/DOE), 
contains references to Civil Rights, Nuremberg, Congressional Testimony, 
termination of funding and the many ways Congress has of carrying out methods 
to suppress information.

Dr. Gofman tried everything in order to have his opinons on the effects of 
radiation on humans heard.  He was basically kept from stating his opinion 
before Congress that "there is NO HARMLESS LEVEL OF RADIATION" by such 
tactics as being required to submit his testimony for review as well as being 
told he submitted too much information and the matter would be rescheduled 
after which he never heard from anyone.  

Dr. Gofman mentioned in his interview a book by Jack Geiger entitled "Dead 
Reckoning" that has to do with all of the things that are wrong with the 
Department of Energy.   The book may have been written prior to Hazel 
O'Leary's term as head of DOE but Dr. Gofman does mention Hazel O'Leary in 
the interview.  

I apologize if this information has been discussed among the group prior to 
the time I joined; however, I think for anyone who hasn't glanced at the 
pertinent portions of the rather lengthy interview, it is a real eye-opener 
and total confirmation of what you, Roy, have said many times about 
scientists, politicians and the state of our country.  

I know one of the magazines I have in regard to the Wisconsin fight mentions 
asking for a Congressional investigation.   The brave fight by Dr. John 
Gofman is another reason for such an investigation!!!     Take care  -
