Roy,

With regard to Bruce Rapley's question, all living organisms operate on
electromagnetic energy which means that exposure to electromagnetic energy
can be both beneficial and harmful.  Since insufficient scientific
information is available concerning the electromagnetic nature of living
organisms, using electrical and magnetic devices for treating health
problems is a trial and error procedure.  Of course there are examples of
accepted treatments by the medical community not working for some people,
as well.
