Roy,
As usual, excellent commentary.
Here is my two cents worth!

We would not have to beat up on them if they just did the one thing we ask
them to do. We rely on them to truthfully investigate and accurately report
results of meaningfull research to the public. If they don't and if they
cover up or water down their results then they should be found in contempt or
fraud and for not assisting a person ( the public ) who is in danger! This is
especially true if it is the public who is paying for the research in the
first place!!!

The time has come, and Congress recognizes, that it must step in to protect
citizens. The silly Telecom Act of 1996 actually helped citizens, though it
was for the benefit of industry. Right now Congress is holding 2 hearings
on it. One on high phone rates and lack of competition that the Act was
supposed to miraculously create, and the other on health issues. This is
the forum that we need; not more research. ALL THE RESEARCH HAS BEEN DONE
THAT PROVES EMR IS A CARCINOGEN!! What the general public now needs is to be
protected from it, while industry is somehow [restrained].>>>>>>>>>
I wonder if Congress recognizes the true public health danger or is it just
another stall tactic. Will they be hearing that watered down versions that
Roy clearly indicated was coming out from the San Antonio RAPID meeting???
I wonder if Congress will hear from the likes of THE EMR ALLIANCE and other
notible public advocates that have a firm grasp of the facts. We ought to
find Dr. Becker; remember him, he was the one who was rail roaded out of town
because he was truthful and right in his analysis!!!!!
<<<<<<<>>>>>>>
And I also say, more research is needed not only to understanding the extent
of the problem and the mechanisms involved BUT in developing mitigation
solutions. This research would happen much more effectively if the public
were told the truth and we stopped denying that the problem doesn't exist!!!
For those of you that recognize me and my interestes in the harmful effects of
VDT emissions research and the mitigation technology I represent let me make
it very clear that I am not interested in public funds for research.

<<<<<<<<<< In fact, I go so far as to say that it would be a big mistake just
to
throw research money at the problem via ANY of the present existing
RICH government regulators or health bureaucracies!!! Every single one of
them has far too much existing complicity and conflict of interest with
the "bought and paid for by the BIG money contributors" of the present
U.S. political system that has enabled the vested interests -- rather
than the public interest -- to dominate this EMF research process.......
I second the motion!!

I kindly request that the public survants that are on this list find the truth
behind all three of these references mentioned by Roy!!!

>>>>>> (1) The science community must NOW, honestly and totally, TELL THE
PUBLIC what has already been learned.... It is not a "black and white"
picture,
I know. It is truly shades of gray ... but NOT the reassuring shades of
gray that "science" (and your industry partners) have been paternalistically
"feeding" to the public.........
(2) Future funding must be provided and managed in such a way that NONE
of the vested industry or government corporations or agencies will be
involved in any way!!!!...... To me that calls for a completely new
structure to manage the EMF research -- one that is in now way tied to
the failed "cozy" crowd of the past......>>>>>>>>>
Again, I second the motion!!!! Especially the actions of the science
community. Within minutes, they have the power to put us on track and begin
doing the right thing. One way or another we are going to pay for the mess we
are in and the longer we wait the more expensive it gets.......so why not
invest in correcting the problem.

>>>>>>>>>P.S. Folks you might be interested to know that there are some
congressional offices and people on this list... Here is your chance to
TALK TO THEM!!!!>>>>>>>>>
Great. Are they part of the problem or part of the solution? If they are not
convinced that there is a serious problem, then what proof do they need?
Let's hear their position.
