Subject: Property assessment devaluation

Roy,
The Real Estate Secion of the Chicago Tribune of Sunday, February 21, 1999
has an informative article entitled "Cellular Tower Leads to Lower
Assessments" by Anika M. Scott. The article is copyrighted, so I can't just
copy it for you. However, your readers can go to Chicago Tribune's web site
http://www.ChicagoTribune.com, then go to the archives, then search for
stories on North Barrington. There were 38 stories at the time I searched,
but I easily found the right one. At this point, you have to buy the article
for $1.95, which can be done by credit card on a secure server. The article
then appears on you screen and you can print it. The story is worth reading
for those people who need to combat the "expert witnesses" the cell telephone
companies always bring to hearings. Their real estate experts always say that
there will be no impact on property values. This article puts the lie to that
statement, and is a potent weapon to show to zoning/planniong authorities.
