Subject: Another "Moulder" website (Reidlinger).. Date: Sat, 11 Mar 2000 112611 -0600 (CST) From: "Roy L. Beavers"To: emfguru -------------------------------------------------- Hi everybody: Yes, there is another "Moulder-like" website in cyberspace, WIRC. See Robert's message below.... I have examined it. It claims to be "independent," but its line-up of "the usual suspects" - people with a record of kow-towing to the industry "line" (e.g., Maria Stuchly, Mary McBride) - and its failure to be forthright about its funding source (s), suggest otherwise..... Clearly, it is better funded than "we" are.... It even claims to have "a staff" as well as a high-paid line-up of scientific "expertise" as advisers.... (Oh well, I now have a staff - my son. The one thing I ENVY about the "other side" in this EMF saga ... is all the money ("staff") they have to work with.... I cannot even maintain my files....) Like Moulder, WIRC states that it will consider only published, peer reviewed research - which means that it is likely to be many years before it can expect to contribute meaningfully to the EMF debate ... either way..... In my quick perusal of indexes, I found no discussion of the Vienna Statement, for example. Though I could have missed it. They belittle the work of Henry Lai and Bruce Hocking, predictably.... Neither did I see any of the European research work discussed; the Polish researcher, for example (whose name I cannot spell).... No mention of the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.... When you look, you will see (something every 'political' editor knows) that: he who controls the SELECTION of the 'news' ... controls the public perception of reality..... In sum, the WIRC site has, to me, the "smell" of one of those infamous industry-lackey, science/P.R. "fronts" of the tobacco industry.... Certainly -- Until the public is given all the facts about its funding -- it deserves to be **ignored**..... Cheerio..... Roy Beavers (EMFguru) roy@emfguru.com .....It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness..... NEW!!! Website... http://emfguru.com ...................People are more important than profits................. Missed opportunity... $$$$$ We could have changed the corrupted system!! $$$$$ McCain !! DO YOU KNOW OF OTHERS WHO SHOULD BE ON THIS LIST??? ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sat, 11 Mar 2000 04:59:43 -0600 (CST) From: "Roy L. I see no explanation of the **funding** of this site - or the remuneration of the "expert group and employees" which they refer to.... It does, indeed, "look like" one of the tobacco industry science/PR "fronts".....
