WE have the same thing going on here in Wisconsin, two power companies
want to build a 345000Volt transmission line 250 miles long through
somewhere between 7500 and 10,000 private parcels of land and with some
where near 50,000 effected properties adjacent to the line property.

On the 21 st of June we received a letter from a reality company wanting
to know if we would sell the land as we have 2400 feet of river frontage,
we than got a letter informing us that this same property is on one of
the proposed routs of the transmission line. When we went to there
informational meetings and asked how much the property value would change
they told us it most likely would not change and if it did it would only
be 8 to 10 percent. 

To make a long story short, some time later we called the reality company
and asked if they were still interested in the property, they said yes
and as we talked I told them about the proposed transmission line, well,
they said they would not buy the property as they could not sell the lots
with the line on it, they told me people do not want to retire and move
out of the city and build next to something like that .

I received a letter saying they were not interested, to me that is not a
10% drop in value , it is 100%.
 
The same Reality company said they had 12 river lots on the Rock River in
Wisconsin also, they sold 11 lots for $ 90,000. each and one was by a
transmission line and two years later they sold it for $ 29000. 

Out east there is a development 77 lots sold for $140-160 thousand each,
there are 6 or 7 lots next to a transmission line and three different
reality co have had them for sale for ten years and can not sell them.

The Fellow that told me about this said there is another same development
just ten miles away suffering the same dilemma. I can give you his E-Mail
address if you want it.

The power companies do not want to talk about property values, and
remember this, they lie about EVERYTHING they tell you.
 
They told us we needed this power to keep our lights on here in north
west Wisconsin , but when you look at there application there is no taps
on the line!!! It is for bulk transfer only, no substations, my toaster
will not run on 345000 volts !!!
 
They're spending $$$millions on TV and Press now as were fighting them
tooth and nail and have all the Indian Tribes here and the Cree in Canada
fighting with us. look at our web site
