Dear Roy, I work in 911 communications center and am growing more and more
concerned about the ill-effects emf may be having on me and my coworkers.
Let me fill you inon what has transpired over the last year. My co-worker
started having astma attacks while on duty and her job is now in jeopardy.
It all started last august. she started getting short of breath and
eventually that night the paramedics were called-well this started to occur
regularly and just while she was inthe 911 center. I raised the issue of
mold in the center. management had the carpet cleaned and ducts cleaned. The
minute she walks in the building her voice goes up about 10octaves and she is
hard to understand. Then the shortness of breath and most of the time they
end up calling the paramedics and if shes bad enough a trip to the hospital.
Management says they have done what is reasonable to help her situation and
they take no responsibility. Now because she is a risk on the radio she may
lose her job. I then brought up the fact that maybe we are being overexposed
to emf. our center is not that big and there are 8 computers(we sit in front
of 3) not to mention all the other technology overload. our new police dept
is in the process of being built so management along with the village are
reluctant to spend any money because we will be vacating the building this
summer. I don't want to end up like my co worker. We recently had somebody
quit because she too was having severe asthma and breathing problems while in
the building. I ask managemnet to get an emf reading and they say "no but we
will get you a tin foil hat." Nice! Please if you can get me any info at
all or guide me-i'm really mad and think my concern is real. Thanks-if I
hope you understand my dilema. thank you so much for being out there.
                                                             Catherine
